A lovely Italian wall fountain that has been hand-carved from three pieces of marble. The cream-colored stone has subtle brown and gold inclusions. A stout demi-lune basin (8 ½ inches tall) with quarter round edges sits on top of a half pedestal with gently sloping concave sides. The front of the basin has a beautiful heraldic display, comprised of a Swiss style escutcheon with a lion bust charge. Beneath the shield is a large leaf with scrolled terminals and topped with a five-point open crown. The third piece of marble is an arched shaped back wall with a large, parted leaf backplate. A thin, recessed molding has been carved all the way around, mirroring the shape of the marble. This Italian carved marble wall fountain can be used inside or outdoors. It would also be a wonderful sink in a powder room. The height of the top of the basin is roughly 30 inches off the ground.
CONDITION: Good condition with light discoloration and buildup to basin. Minor separations and nicks. In photos that show the back wall, a slender piece of wire can be seen, which was used for stability purposes. The fountain is stable, and the wire will not be needed when installed properly. Please see photos. No spout.
