A large, versatile basin, this marble basin or sink was hand-carved from beautiful breccia pontificia marble. The highly sought after beige and garnet veined marble is quarried from mines in the Sicily area of Italy. Thick gadrooning adorns the outside of the basin, continuing to the underside, forming a stylized shell. The back of the interior has a carved acanthus leaf that terminates at a thick block in the back of the sink. When installing the basin as a sink, the block would be used to affix the marble to the wall. Our Italian carved and lobed marble sink can also be used as a unique planter or a large decorative bowl.

The sink weighs roughly 85 lbs.

CONDITION: Good condition with wear commensurate to age and use, including fleabites and minor scratches. Light buildup to the interior of the basin.  Hole in bottom of basin must be drilled by installer if used as sink.
