This richly decorated antique French walnut wood buffet has some of the most intricate and tiny carvings that are still visible after several hundred years. It is composed of Period Renaissance elements that were mated with 1800s sections (such as top) in the 19th Century. It is in the taste of Hugues Sambin, a famous French woodworker from the 16th century. Details of this carving is quite visible on the fourth photo showing the demi-figure’s ivy covering the lower half. There are too many examples to mention, but as you study it, the motifs are amazing in their detail. This buffet has two doors and two drawers. The body rests upon four bun feet.
CONDITION: Very good condition for its age. Old restorations, minor rubs and scratches, age separations and traces of old wood worm.
