A wonderful wall plaque, reminiscent of a Renaissance fresco, this French wall plaque consists of plaster and wood. The beautiful panel has a parcel paint finish, giving it a lovely cream color with accents of tan, white, and gray. Set within the 1 ½ inch thick wood frame is a low-relief rendering of a fluted urn on top of a volute foot pedestal with rinceaux embellishments. The urn is overflowing with fruit, most noticeably a pineapple and grapes, and twisting vines. A thickly molded rectangle with angular edges in the upper corners envelops the cartouche, with a concentric roundel filling both corners. Our parcel paint plaster and wood plaque can be hung on any wall of the house, from the hallway to a bathroom, bedroom, or living room.
CONDITION: Very good condition, with fleabites to the plaster and chipping to paint. Very light buildup at the bottom of the wood frame. Intentional distressing and aged finish as seen in photos.
