An interesting, early 1900’s side table from France, this cast iron table features a latticework shaped top over an elaborate foliate and baluster base. The roughly rectangular top has thin, undulating edges, surrounding a lozenge pattern filled with quatrefoil piercings. Two truss ends comprised of sprawling foliate rinceaux are connected by a baluster stretcher. There is a second stretcher located directly under the top that consists of pierced and curled leaves. The foliate theme is continued on the four feet, which are stylized leaf cups. A perfect small table for a garden or patio, our French painted cast iron table can also be used as a side table for a jardin d’hiver or sunroom.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with fleabites and minor scratches. Light losses to antique white paint, resulting in oxidized patina, commensurate to age and exposure to elements.
