From Northern Spain, this grand Gothic style trunk has been made from European Oak and iron and dates to the approximately the early 1800’s. The front is characterized by stepped out scrolling vertical quatrefoils with small flower heads on either side of the central panel. Two fenestrated or reproductions of Gothic windows grace the center panel, which also holds the iron back plate and latch. The top, sides and back are all plain boards. The feet are block, typical of the style in the late 1700’s to early 1800’s. This wonderful Spanish trunk will be an asset to any room of the house.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with minor wood losses, age separations, minor scratches and traces of old wormwood. Some areas more recent
