This versatile antique French table with its hand carved grape motifs can be used as a dining room table, library table, a center table, hall table or, as a large desk. It was originally made as a tasting or presentation table in a French country vineyard chateau. The top border has stylized grape leaf linear motifs surrounding the periphery of the table, while the apron has thick grape vines, individual leaves, and tendrils. The four corners have reliefs of clusters of grapes, large leaves and the woody stem. There are four drawers, two on either side of the table. These must have been used to store linens. There is an H-stretcher with five turned legs, and the decorated jointed blocks sit on bun feet.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with minor nicks and loss. Slight gap between drawers and table body and minor age separations.
