A charming couronne de lit (French) or corona del letto (Italian) with a wide opening, this bed corona crown allows a canopy of fabric to suspend above any size bed. Hand-carved and painted during the 1950s, the corona is a testament to Italian craftsmanship. The neutral beige finish, accented with subtle green and gray, can be paired with just about any color bedroom. At the apex, a graceful ball finial stands proudly above a ring of gadrooning, from which eight intricately designed C-scroll arms gracefully extend. Each arm is adorned with raised roundels and delicate attenuated leaf curls, and between them, you’ll find the regal fleur de lys resting atop a band embellished with geometric carvings. Trefoil feet have been carved beneath the opening, offering anchor points for the fabric that trails over the bed. Not just a decorative piece but a statement of refined taste, our bed crown element will transform your bedroom into a sophisticated sanctuary.
CONDITION: Good condition with very light paint losses and nicks. Minor rubs and buildup. At least one trefoil foot has an old repair. Possible missing fleur de lys, as two of the arms are not flanked on both sides.
