Capable of seating three adults, this park bench from Northern Italy has been hand-carved from five pieces of limestone. The high-arching back has been carved with a slightly recessed geometric panel that is subtly textured. A pair of gently sloping arms, embellished with tightly wound volutes and two thin bands carved into the façade, flank the three-inch-thick seat. The form of the arms continues on the two outer legs that support the seat. A third and much smaller leg is situated in the center of the seat, adorned with an acanthus leaf on the deeply concave front. The limestone has developed a wonderful patina of light gray, white, and green, with a light mottling of brown and ochre. Our limestone park bench can be used inside or outdoors, wherever classic Italian seating is needed.
