Sometimes referred to as a chevet, this French nightstand is topped with a quarter inch thick black marble infused with various hues of gray striations. Directly beneath the top is a 10” W x 8” D drawer with ogee molding and a concentric roundel pull. A two-paneled door comprises most of the main body, opening to reveal a full-length shelf. The linear nature of the chevet is interrupted by a low profile ogee molding adorned with a pair of roundels on both sides and the front. A beautiful and functional chevet from the Louis Philippe period, our French nightstand has warm honey color wood offset by the dark marble top. It can be paired with a bed in any interior design style or used as a lovely side table.
CONDITION: Good antique condition, with minor age separations and rubs. Wear commensurate to age and use, with light buildup, scratches, and fleabites. The wood has been given a nice coat of French wax, giving the chevet a warm honey color. A magnet has been installed on the door.
