Consisting of 14 pieces of hand-carved limestone, this small wall fountain was produced in Lecce, in Southern Italy. The top entablature features a thick ogee molding beneath the cornice and a quarter-round protrusion near the base, above a square stone with multiple layers of thick, raised molding. Set within the moldings is a large carved floret that functions as a collar for the scrolled iron spout that is positioned above a 21 H x 23 W x 15 ½ D basin comprised of six wall stones and four capstones. The top stones have thin molding above rounded edges, adding subtle curves to the square basin. A pair of large, carved S-scrolls that flank the back wall also provide additional elegance. The stones have a light gray hue, with areas of green, beige, and white, giving this Lecce, Italy wall fountain a lovely patina. It would make a wonderful addition to a small garden or interior courtyard.

CONDITION: Very good condition with intentional distress, such as rubs and nicks. Stone can change color with exposure to the elements. Please contact us for photos of the current patina. Losses to the gray finish of the iron spout has led to oxidation.
