Hand-carved in Provence, France, this limestone demi lune console has a four inch thick top with a recessed carving above a cavetto molding. A corbel-like column sits beneath the top, supported by a rectangular plinth with beveled edges. The column has a pair of volute scrolls at the base on the sides, adding additional elegance to the very shapely console. Areas on each of the three pieces of stone have developed a darkened patina from resting outdoors for the past few years. This versatile and elegant console table from the South of France can be placed inside or outdoors.
CONDITION: Very good condition, with natural pitting and cavitations. Old distress marks and acquired patina. Stone is a natural material that can become darker or lighter when placed outside. Photos of current patina available on request.
