Hand-carved in Italy, this limestone bench features detailed ram heads supports. The bench seat has rounded edges above a battlement, or crenellated, apron that rests on the supports. Each support sits on a molded plinth and contains a ram head on the front and back sides. The rams are connected via drapery swag that run through their spiral horns and exit from their mouths. The fabric is depicted as bunched and gathered, especially in the margent that hangs from the rams’ mouths.
The limestone has developed a natural patina from being outside, complete with traces of lichen. With a seating area of almost five feet, multiple adults could sit on the bench comfortably. Our carved Italian limestone bench with ram heads supports would be a charming option for any outdoor setting.
CONDITION: Good condition with minor chipping. Lichen has developed on the supports. Stone is natural material that can become darker or lighter from the elements. The seat of the bench has developed a lovely, speckled grey and black patina.
