This large wooden cartouche plaque was hand-carved and hand-painted in Florence, Italy. A large gold painted Florentine Giglio forms the central decorative element of the plaque. Similar to the French Fleur De Lys, the Giglio has been the symbol of Florence for nearly 1000 years. The central oval is surrounded by a thickly carved pale powder blue frame, alternating with repeating cream colored elements. The lower sides of the plaque are adorned with swags of gilded fruit and flowers.
Our light blue, gold, and cream painted carved wooden cartouche plaque from Italy is a work of art. It can be mounted to the wall of just about any room, making it a versatile decorative accessory.
