Produced in Italy during the 20th century, this bleached trestle table with thick, lyre shaped legs can be considered the Baroque style. The top of our table is comprised of several planks of oak that feature beautiful, large quarter round edges. The molding adds depth to the top and factoring in the trestle legs below, allows 6 adults to sit at the table. The trestles have been hand-carved as ornate lyre legs, with sinuous scrolls gracing the edges. Square dowels used in construction can be seen flanking the stretcher that runs through each leg. The stretcher is kept in place by two tapered wedges on each side that slot into a mortise near the canted ends.
Our bleached Italian oak trestle table can be used in almost any style dining or breakfast room. It would also make a great sofa or console table in hallway. The neutral oak color allows the table to used in a variety of interiors.
CONDITION: Good condition, with wear commensurate to age and use with minor age separations. The wood has been cleaned/bleached, but there are some light stains to the edge of the tabletop and the legs. Please see photos for details.
