The immaculate hand-carved details of this French sunburst wall fountain are enhanced by the beautiful patina of the aged limestone. 17 pieces of limestone were carved for the fountain, including eight for the shapely en chapeau basin. The curves of the basin are accentuated by the thick molding to the top edges of the sides and front walls. In the center of the back wall is a multi-ray sunburst surmounted by a wavy haired cherub, with the open mouth functioning as an aperture for cascading water. A protruding ring encircles the sunburst, with a more recessed molding beyond; it is these two rings that give the wall the high arching crest. The wall fountain is a celebration of life, with the various motifs representing elements of nature: water, wind, sun, and earth.

Our sunburst wall fountain has a lovely palette, with splashes of cream and dark gray patina mixed with the light gray color of the limestone. The fountain would make a fantastic addition to a garden, courtyard, or entryway.

CONDITION: Good condition. Intentional distress, presenting as nicks and losses. Restoration to a small area beneath the mascaron. No spout included. Limestone is a natural material that can change color with exposure to the elements. Please contact us for photos of the current patina.
