This decorative coat of arms music sheet holder is made from silvered bronze and brass and was produced circa 1870.
Supported by an easel stand, our antique music sheet holder shows a heraldic coat of arms. Two lion supporters are holding up a cartouche adorned with an escutcheon, or shield. The lions are depicted in rampant guardant attitude, which means they are rearing up on their hind legs with their heads towards the viewer. Their tails are extended upwards towards their long flowing manes. The escutcheon is emblazoned with an urn that has a large flowering bush.
Exceptionally lightweight, yet sturdy, this unique silver gilt bronze and brass music sheet holder can still function as originally intended. You can also it to hold artwork, photos, or cookbook pages in the kitchen.
CONDITION: Wear commensurate to age and use. Minor rubs.
