From the 1600’s, this fabulous Italian door has been painted a pale cream and has quatrefoil giltwood moldings and motifs. Adorning the inside of each quatrefoil are incised bouquets of flowers, each slightly different from the other. The back has no ornamentation and is painted a dark brown. The door has wrought iron pintle hinges of different styles. The use of polychrome decoration of doors has long been an architectural tradition in Italy. Today, just as it did hundreds of years ago, this door from Torino Italy, will once again enrich any home.
CONDITION: Surface has some discoloration and buildup. Some losses and red bole showing through. Some loss to bottom corner. Hinges are different from each other, no key.
