This is an antique tabouret or stool, which is a little taller than usual, allowing it be used used as an end table, stool, or footstool. It has the classic Louis XIII style ornamentation, with an upper border of linear acanthus leaves, turned legs and cupped ball feet. The top has a floral/foliate needlepoint cover attached by brass nail heads, and the wood carved frame has a waxed finish with warm coloration throughout.
From 19th Century France, this tabouret with a needlepoint top can be used anywhere in this home.
CONDITION: Very minor missing threads on needlepoint. Minor rubs to wood and traces of old woodworm.
