This bronze wine barrel spout was cast in the 1800’s in France. The spout is in the form of a dragon head, with the mouth functioning as the exit point. There is a shaped handle that rises from a collar at the front of a straight shaft. Our dragon form barrel spout was most likely a tap for a French wine barrel during the 19th century. Another potential use could be as a spout for a wall fountain or powder room sink. It would also make an interesting piece of decorative art.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition, with minor rubs and buildup, both commensurate with age and use. Fleabites from the casting process. Light verdigris.
