This interesting bleached table was produced in the early to mid-20th century in Belgium. The two-inch-thick top with mortise and tenon construction is supported by an impressive and stout hand-carved base. The columnar base is accentuated by a large ball pedestal and shapely bracket feet. When extending the table, the extra leaf increases the length to 62 1/4 inches.
As shown in the main photo, the round shape makes for a perfect center or occasional table. With the leaf in, this Belgian table can easily accommodate several guests and would make a stylish breakfast table. For those looking for an even larger table, additional leaves could be crafted to extend the table even farther. This table was crafted from solid, heavy wood, and has a distinct charm due to its tall shaped feet and ball pedestal.
Table length with the leaf added: 62 1/4
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor nicks and rubs with light water marks to the tabletop. Some old worming to feet as seen in photos.
