Known for its versatility and subtle carvings, this French antique Louis Philippe silverleaf mirror from the 1800s can be used with almost any style of design. The rounded upper corners are contrasted by the rectilinear bottom molding that has small feet, indicating the mirror was designed to be placed atop a mantel. A ring of roundels encircle the mirror, which is in turn surrounded by a cavetto molding. The center of the frame has a quarter round molding delicately carved with foliate motifs.
