This large bronze wine barrel spout was cast in the 1800’s in France. The spout is in the form of a dolphin head, with the mouth functioning as the exit point. A large, shaped handle emerges from the top of a tapering and threaded stem. Our dolphin form barrel spout was most likely a tap for a French wine barrel during the 19th century. Another potential use could be as a spout for a wall fountain or powder room sink. It would also make an interesting piece of decorative art.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition, with minor rubs and buildup, both commensurate with age and use. Fleabites from the casting process.
