This half round table was made in Italy, in the early 1700’s. Tables of this type were first constructed in the mid to late 1600’s, heavily influenced by Spanish style. The linear scoop motif under the top is typically Italian, while the shaped lyre scroll legs are more Spanish. This table is made of Italian walnut, and is full of character. It has a warm, rich patina, and you can see old wooden fills, and a small replacement on the front of the top. It would have been one of a pair that could be joined together. Today, this Italian piece will serve as a beautiful console table anywhere in the home.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with old restorations, minor splits, minor losses to wood, traces of old wood worm. Bow in top where old repair was made as seen in photos.
