Tall and circular, this French polished brass jardiniere dates to circa 1900. The metal has been hammered using a repousse technique, and the result is a stunning display of low-relief imagery. Motifs include floral rinceaux, oval cartouches of flowers and protruding leaves, and several rings of thin molding. Supported by three, small foliate feet, the jardiniere has a removable liner, allowing for easy cleaning. A beautiful decorative accessory, our brass jardiniere can be displayed as an objet d’art or used as an indoor planter.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Light buildup with some slight wear to the edges of the removable liner, all commensurate with age and use. Minor indentations and losses, with some discoloration to the exterior. One of the feet has a bend, causing a slight pitch, but this can be remedied.
