Antique Iron and Stained Glass Lantern from Dijon France, Circa 1910

This charming antique French iron and stained-glass lantern from Dijon dates to the early 1900’s. The body where the stained glass is has an indented octagonal shape with acanthus leaf C and S scrolls above and beneath it.  At the top center of each section of stained glass, are pyramidal shapes containing double stylized fleur-de-lys motifs. The stained glass is in varying shapes with colors of red, green, gold and mottled opaque glass. There is a door with a clasp for opening to add a candle or to change the bulb once electrified.

Lanterns are always beautiful in an outdoor or indoor setting. This antique French lantern with its glistening stained glass will be a focal point wherever it is placed.

CONDITION:  Good overall antique condition with loss of one pair of iron palmettes. Some rusting and fading as seen in photos.
