Stripped Antique Oak Jacobean Style Refectory Table from England, 19th Century

This robust oak table dates to circa 1880, and it is in the English Jacobean style (16th and 17th Centuries). It is considered a refectory table because of its relatively shallow rectangular form. The top consists of three long oak planks with enough of an overhang at either end to allow use as a dining table.  Its apron has linear arcading, and beneath this, at the corners, are volute motifs. The legs are thick baluster shapes on tall block feet, and there is a stretcher at the middle connecting each end of the table. This table has wonderful proportions and will be an asset to any room it is placed in.

CONDITION:  Good overall antique condition with age splits, minor losses and abrasions as seen in photos
