Set of 8 Large Carved Fruitwood Os De Mouton Dining Chairs |
These very comfortable dining chairs are known as Os de Mouton, or "Mutton Bone". It's a style that was first seen in France during the 1600's. The shape is timeless and elegant, which is what makes them so versatile. They can be used in a variety of interior styles and color schemes. The set of 8 seen here were made in the 1900's, and they are larger than period antique Os De Mouton chairs. This makes them a good candidate for big dining tables, or those who simply prefer a more comfortable dining chair. They have a flat upper back and pale blue upholstery with gimp and brass nailheads. The frames have been carved out of a type of fruitwood which has nice color and character. CONDITION: Frames are in very good condition with only minor rubs. Upholstery has some light stains but no tears. |
