Pair of Unusual 18th Century French Oak Fleur De Lys Doors

These decorative oak doors once graced the front of an armoire, or the upper section of a buffet deux corps. Based on the style of carving, it is likely they are from Northern Brittany or Southern Normandy. Each door is asymmetrical in its design but overall composition remains symmetrical when placed together, typical of the Regence Period. There are flowing S-Scrolls surrounding the inner borders of each of the panels. Elegant long stemmed palmettes and other flowers are at the center. At the upper area on each door is a beautiful Fleur de Lis within a circle. C-Scrolls and an S-Scroll are above it and to the side. The outer borders have more floral and foliate motifs used sparingly, maintaining the elegant form of the doors.

Today, these beautiful doors can be used as frontages for tall cabinets, interior doors, built in cabinet doors, or decorative architectural elements.

CONDITION: Good antique condition with age separations, old restorations, minor nicks and scratches. No key.
