Pair of Antique French Oak Doors from Burgundy, 1700s

These elegant French oak doors from Burgundy are from the 18th century, and most likely, the Regence Period.  The upper panels are asymmetrical, and the middle panels has hand forged iron nailheads.  These nailheads are repeated on the horizontal, linear panel between the middle panels and lower panels. The other ironwork on the back of the doors are latches, bars attached to the hinges, and a piece at the center of one door for holding a vertical iron rod that would have fit into an attached piece on the door frame (there was no rod with these doors when we bought them). Note how the primitive old restorations have been artfully done on these doors.

From Burgundy, this elegant pair of oak doors from the 18th Century, can be used as headboards for a bed, as doors to hide a television, as library doors, or once again, as a pair of doors, inside or outside.

CONDITION: Old restorations, losses, age separations, old wood worm, surface variations consistent with age.
