Beautiful 18th Century French Walnut Wood Crib with Family Coat of Arms- Bourgogne

Tin liner added in the 1800's or later to convert to a planter

This wonderful 18th century French crib from the Bourgogne area has been converted into a planter sometime in the 19th century. It would have been originally carved during the 1700s, and bears the family's coat of arms on the ends. On one end we see "E S" and the other, "I H D C". The rich walnut carvings also depict shells, foliate motifs, and 4 large stylized French dolphins as feet.  The addition of a metal liner placed inside allows for plants, or dried flowers.   This unique treasure from the 18th century can once again be used as a crib, or a planter, or even as a work of art.

CONDITION: Good antique condition ; age separations, rubs, nicks, minors losses to motifs all commensurate with age of 1700’s.  Metal liner needs soldering if using water.
