These wonderful metal dogs are seated on stands of round stone, and they are after the French sculptor, Antoine Barye. They are a light green in color, mimicking bronze.  Each dog (likely Whippets), rest upon octagonal pedestals with foliate motifs. Beneath this is the round base. Showing off their perfect posture, and attentive demeanor, these large whippets will bring a smile to anyone’s face. Antoine Barye (1795 to 1875), was a very successful French sculptor, who was mostly known for excellent representation of animals. These dogs were most likely cast in the mid 1900s.

CONDITION: Bell missing on collar of dog on left. Minor chips to finish on both. Some chips to bases, but overall good condition, commensurate to age and use outside.
