Large Antique Silvered Bronze Jardiniere from France, Circa 1890

This elegant, antique silvered bronze, oval jardiniere is from France, and dates to the late 1800’s. At either end of the oval, there are two acanthus leaf c-scrolls with stylized wheels at the center. There are two maidens with bows, arrows and quivers who are resting upon each scroll. On the opposing sides, are cartouches with convex egg motifs at their centers, shells at the top and acanthus leaves flanking the egg motifs. At the base of the cartouche are double c-scrolls. There is a silvered metal liner for this jardiniere. All this rests upon four scrolled feet. This large silvered bronze jardinere has wonderful detail and will be the focal point of any surface it is placed upon.

CONDITION: Good antique condition with some rubs to silvered bronze finish, one bow was broken at some point, but we have had it soldered, minor dents to liner, all commensurate with age.
