Early to Mid 1900's Plaster Bacchanalian Putti Wine Sculpture/Container from France

From France, this charming metal over plaster container depicts two putti working hard at draining a large barrel of wine.  One stands in the barrel, peeking over the edge, as the other fills his glass from the spout. The barrel is raised upon bricks, supported by two beams.  There are two wine bottles to the side of the young boy on the ground.

This piece has a hidden lid, which is the top of the barrel and half of the boy. It was used a small storage container, maybe for candies or valuables.  Today, it can it be used a candy jar or a stand alone decorative accessory.

CONDITION: Good condition with some chipping and loose areas to metallic coating.
